Nose: A funky Islay peat appears at first, although it is light for a Staoisha and quickly enveloped by a thanksgiving sweetness of pumpkin, plums and corn. Malt and burnt salted caramel also on display in this expansive bouquet.
Palate: THIS IS STAOISHA! Sweet and smokey with a somewhat oily mouthfeel; burning butter drizzled over smoked rashers; sweet and slightly tannic sherried notes of plums and walnuts; toasted oak and vanilla along with some light spice. The key element of this whisky however, is the enchanting Islay peat which boasts both medicinal and smokey elements and continuously grows throughout the dram.
Finish: A rich, round and incredibly moreish finish of tannic smoke and sweet peat.
