“The 35 on Training Wheels”

Nose: Notes of black forest gateau and cocoa nibs are reminiscent of a much older Glenallachie that I enjoyed not too long ago. Expressed orange peel and candied fruits are soaked in crème de cassis with a dense oak spice that grows slowly. The nose is too good - I could sit with this dram all day.

Palate: Juicy raisins and figs at the forefront with a thick and rich mouthfeel straight from the get go. A super sweet mid palate with frangipane, orange oil and honeycomb accompanied by subtle orchard fruits. A long and warming finish that continues to dry out with toasted nuts, cinnamon and ginger.

Overview: This was my favourite dram of 2024 and it continues to impress in 2025. Well beyond its years, this dram showcases the quality and value that seems to be a given with everything from Glenallachie. This is a masterclass in wood selection and a truly sensational expression.
