Augmented Reality With Whisky
Combining augmented reality with whisky has left some of our customers with puzzled looks on their faces. And we understand - AR is such a new technology and companies have only used it in a gimmicky way thus far, so many people don’t know much about it.
So, what is AR? To try and put it simply, augmented reality is an experience combining the real world around us with the digital world. For example, if you download/open our app up on your phone and point the camera at a bottle of The Whisky Baron, you will see the label come to life as The Baron jumps off the label and onto the surface in front of you to offer a tour of your chosen dram.
We wanted our experience to be more than just a gimmick though, so we made it interactive in a way that entertains, educates and enhances someone’s relationship with whisky. When you bring The Whisky Baron to life he will be able to tell you about the history of the distillery from where your dram came; a perfect food pairing; an appropriate cocktail recipe and much more!
